No. AYF members and non-AYF members have the opportunity to become a counselor.

Will I be alone or have a co-counselor?

Each cabin is assigned two counselors and up to twelve campers. Also, during the course of the week the camp will be split into color teams where you will have an opportunity to work with other counselors as well as campers.

What kind of training will I receive?

All our counselors are required to attend our mandatory counselor orientation which takes place about one month prior to the start of camp. During this orientation, we will review the counselor code of conduct and ethics, as well as go over activities. There is also a section devotes to child/teenage behavior and how to handle situations that may arise during their stay at camp. In addition, counselors will receive training and become certified in first aid.
