WAIT LIST POLICY:

AYF Camp receives more and more applications each year and had weeks sell out extremely quickly in the past few years. While it is our sincere desire to see everyone who wants to come to camp be able to, it just isn’t possible. Therefore, our simple registration policy is first applications received are first registered, in their respective order. However, we do offer a Waiting List to fill spots that suddenly become available. While we cannot guarantee a spot for anyone who signs up for the wait list, we know that at least some spots open up each week and more campers will be able to attend. The following is our wait list policy:

  • If a week is full and you register your camper for a Wait List, you will receive an e-mail confirmation notifying you that your camper is on the Wait List.
  • Our Wait List procedure is the same as our registration procedure, first applications received are first registered.
  • If a spot becomes available, we will contact you by phone and/or e-mail. You will have 24 hours to respond. After that, we will contact the next person on the list.
  • The Wait List application does not include a payment page. Should the camper move up from the Wait List, you will receive a phone call confirmation and a manual payment will be taken over the phone.
  • We do not make any to the order of people on the Wait List. We will personally call each person on the waiting list in the order their applications were received.
  • If you have the ultimate flexibility, we have been able to accept campers as late as the day before camp begins. We acknowledge that this can potentially leave some summer plans up in the air and apologize for any inconvenience.

REFUND POLICY:

A non-refundable deposit of $200 per session, per camper, is part of the registration fee. The $200 per session, per camper deposit will not be refunded for any reason. Our cancellation policy states that there are two options if you should choose to cancel your registration. All cancellations made within one week of the start date of your camper's session will result in no refund or credit.

You are eligible for a partial refund of everything except the $200 non-refundable fee. (i.e. if you paid $450 for your child’s registration, you will receive a partial refund of $250).

OR

You may keep the entire payment as a credit towards the following year.

This credit is only available for one year, and will only be applied to the same camper or a sibling. No friends or other family members will be able to use your credit. You will also have to re-apply for camp the following year; your child will not automatically be placed in the same week.

  • There will be no exceptions to our cancellation policy.
  • Refunds are disbursed in the same form that payment was made.
  • Homesickness does not qualify for refund purposes.
  • Campers sent home due to behavior problems will not be refunded.
  • Early departure due to previous plans and early pickup from the camp program will not be refunded.
  • Refunds or credits will not be issued should a camp session be canceled or cut short due to a natural disaster.

Parents may bring their child to AYF Camp, or register for the bus with a nominal fee.

FAQs:

Who's in charge during the camp session?

The staff, which includes the counselors and directors, is in charge during the camp session. All counselors are over the age of 18, CPR certified, and have received the proper training to deal with any situation they should come across during the camp session. There is at least one director each session selected by the management board to oversee all camp activities.

Can I be in the same cabin with my friend(s)?

The cabin assignments are determined by age and sex. No exceptions will be made. Each cabin has a fire hazard maximum occupancy regulation which will be strictly followed.

What happens if I get hurt or homesick?

The Director will contact your parents if you become ill, abnormally homesick, or when something extraordinary occurs. We have trained medical personnel present during each session to tend to all health or injury-related needs. We have a fully equipped infirmary that houses all of our medical supplies. Be sure to include your contact information in the space provided on the application.

What if I have allergies?

Children with common seasonal allergies (i.e. pollen) are welcome at camp. Please indicate all allergies (i.e. bee stings, etc) on the application so we can alert our staff and medical personnel.

What if I’m taking medication?

All medications (prescription and over-the-counter) must be turned into the counselor and will be kept in the infirmary. All medications will be administered to you by trained medical personnel. No medication of any kind is to be left with campers.

How do I get in touch with my parents during the camp session?

Campers are not allowed to have cellular phones during their stay at camp. It is up to the Director’s discretion whether he/she will allow a camper to contact their parents for any reason.

Do I need money?

A snack shop is maintained to provide campers with limited refreshments, medicated lip balm, and snacks. Parents can now add $25 (no more and no less) to each camper's snack shop funds during the checkout process of registration. We will no longer be accepting cash at camp to use for the snack shop. Any remaining funds left over after the week is completed can be used towards camp merchandise or snacks and drinks for your departure. Cash will not be refunded. Camp merchandise will also be available for purchase on days at the beginning and end of the session. Please visit our store for pricing.
